NZ Shooting Academy

News - November 2011

This is really very very late October news but what the heck.

Our President has provided an update, which has just been posted. Please check it out.

Some more images of the proposed Complex have also been posted.

We currently have the Engineers working on the earthworks plan and some sound testing scheduled this week. More anon.

Still small steps, hopefully it the right direction.

There is a rumour that Auckland would like to host a World Masters Games after Torino, Italy. The Syndey World Masters in 2009 was great so it would be fanastic if it came to Auckland.

News - October 2011

October is looking like a month of action and progress culminating from all the work in the last couple of months.

After producing our Strategic and Business plans, we have recently completed a 3D conceptual model of the new Shooting Complex. Below is a snapshot of the proposed range.  Our forthcoming tasks in meetings with the Council to progress the Resource Consent and an erathworks engineer. More anon.

Introduction

The NZ Shooting Academy Inc. is a new Organisation aimed at supporting and fostering the sport of shooting throughout New Zealand.

The original team was known as the Auckland Shooting Range Development Team (ASRDT).

This team has been formalized and is now the NZ Shooting Academy Inc.

The NZ Shooting Academy objectives are:

    1) To establish a permanent non-profit Society for the purpose of educating, promoting and providing training in the safe and proper use of firearms.

    2) To acquire land, premises and equipment, either leasehold or freehold, for the purposes of shooting

    3) To establish and operate a shooting range (or ranges), for the use of firearms owners and users in New Zealand.

    4) To provide training, coaching and competition facilities for shooting disciplines

    5) To establish, uphold and promote the highest ethical standards in our activities.

Our first project is the development of new shooting facilities within the Auckland region to supersede the original Ardmore complex.

A 3D model of the new site has been developed. Check some of the pictures of the model here.

Pub Charity

The Pub Charity Community Funding has very kindly donated $50,000 to assist us in obtaining a Resource Consent for the Auckland Council for our proposed Ardmore II range complex.

We sincerely thank the Pub Charity for this donation and look forward to sharing our progress with them.
